Who Am I?

The power behind AFWorks is Andrew Fisher. Andrew born at Morriston Hospital on Christmas Eve 1966 is a modest person who has built up a social and professional network over the last 25 years within the media, education and IT industries.

A graduate in Management & Infomatics from the University of Wales, Andrew worked in local radio for 9 years as presenter, producer, and as an award winning scriptwriter.

A beneficiary of the Andrew Cross Awards in 1997 for his production “Newswatch Jerusalem”, Andrew worked on several other docu-drama productions including the series “Reflection” and his own concept “Simply Sunday”. A show for an early, lazy Sunday which mixed contemporary music with more traditional spiritual songs. A bold venture, which brought it’s own rewards when the first audience figures were released which showed a 25% increase in audience share.

As a video director Andrew has created works such as “Bosnia – A Forgotten War” – an audio visual journey charting the demise of the former Yugoslavia into the turmoil and destruction of war through to the new age of peace.

Most recently he has worked on a commission to produce a series of golf tutorial DVDs. Speaking of golf his keen eye for detail and being able to illustrate words and emotions was commended by the Golf Union of Wales.

Andrew produced the brochure used by Glyn Abbey Golf Club as their successful application for Welsh Golf Club of the Year 2009.

Andrew has worked within the IT industry as an accredited trainer, applications developer and business analyst. His web creations offer clients something more personal than the corporate-mass produced websites provide. In Wales we call it “Hwyl” – translated it means “Spirit”. To capture the essence of the person and present this as a cyber-entity is the central theme of his work. To be published a site must pass the AF acid test, “It may look good, but does it do anything?”

Taught by Wales’ leading landscape photographer, Pete Davies, I enjoy immensely the opportunity to “make a photograph”, as  Ansell Adams once said.I enjoy equally working with people or the solitude of the landscape or product shoot. My web galleries are expanding daily.

If you wish me to make photographs for you, I accept commissions, please visit the Contact page and I will be in touch.
